BANGA SANSKRITI UTSAV AND DELHI BOI MELA

Bengal Association, New Delhi organised “Banga Sanskriti Utsav and Delhi BOI MELA (Book Fair)” from 15-20th March, 2016 at New Delhi Kalibari Ground. PRANTIC CULTURAL SOCIETY showcased its enthralling performance at this prominent event of Delhi through a dance drama “Tumi Mrinmoyee, Tumi Chinmoyee, Tumi ei Jaya” on 18th March 2016.

The recital was focused on the burning issue of ‘Save the Girl Child and Women Empowerment’ and was showcased in the form a beautifully crafted dance drama. In this beautifully conceptualised program, members of Prantic showcased the various facet of the dilemma women have been exposed to over the years and how she has survived all the odds and has come out victorious.

Starting from how the ever emerging women have always been suppressed, the recital displayed Goddess Durga and her various avatars, followed by an amazing depiction of the plight of Sita, Draupadi, Sati and the common Indian Bride. Next in line the blazing issue of Female infanticide in our society was portrayed. The deep, intense and solemn mood of the dance drama uplifted the ray of hope in every girl child. Taking cue from the great women achievers, the drama ended by showcasing the great power of women and how she has outlived all the trouble and turbulence in her life and has stood tall with her head held high all along.
